Measure K Funding Approved for Pescadero Elementary Emergency Power Project
December 9, 2025
We are excited to share wonderful news for our school community. At today’s San Mateo County Board of Supervisors meeting, Agenda Item 13 – Measure K funding for the Pescadero Elementary School Emergency Power Project – was passed unanimously. This recommendation was sponsored by Supervisor Ray Mueller, who, after meeting with us only a few months ago, immediately committed to helping address this critical need. Not only did he follow through on that commitment, he brought it to the Board and successfully secured the support needed to move forward.
Our district was represented by Kassi Talbot, Dave Meyrovich, and Michelle Ross, who were invited to speak on behalf of LHPUSD to emphasize the importance of this project for the safety and reliability of our school facilities.
The approved recommendation includes:
A) Authorization for the County’s Department of Emergency Management to negotiate and execute agreements—including a grant agreement with LHPUSD—to complete the Pescadero Elementary School Emergency Power Project, not to exceed $500,000.
B) Approval of an Appropriation Transfer Request allocating $500,000 in Measure K reserves to purchase and install an emergency generator for Pescadero Elementary School.
This is a major win for our students, staff, families, and community. With this support, we are one step closer to ensuring that Pescadero Elementary has the emergency power infrastructure needed to keep our campus safe and operational during power outages and emergencies. We are grateful to Supervisor Mueller and the full Board of Supervisors for their leadership and unwavering support—and to everyone in our district who continues working to improve our schools for the children we serve.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate this achievement as we continue moving forward with the important work ahead.
Sincerely,
Michelle Ross
