A Message from the Superintendent
Dear La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District Community,
It is with deep respect and genuine enthusiasm that I step into the role of Superintendent of the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District. I come to this role as an educator of nearly 30 years, with a background rooted in classroom teaching, school leadership, and district service in Monterey County.
Our district’s mission—to maintain an inspirational school environment where engagement thrives, wellness is prioritized, families are valued, and diversity is central to our identity—is more than a guiding statement. It is the heartbeat of our work. As we move forward together, I remain fully committed to this mission and to the shared vision that defines who we are: Inspire. Engage. Respond.
We inspire by igniting curiosity and innovation in every classroom and drawing strength from the rich, local resources that make the South Coast so unique.
We engage by creating collaborative and inclusive spaces that foster personal growth, celebrate differences, and ensure every voice is heard.
We respond by recognizing the needs of our students and families, developing programs that are equitable and accessible, and forming meaningful community partnerships.
Our goals remain clear:
Ensure academic success for all students.
Provide a safe, nurturing, healthy, and positive school environment.
Strengthen collaboration with families and improve communication across our district.
In LHPUSD, we are building a trauma-informed learning community—one that sees every child, every family, and every staff member as integral to our collective success. We honor our past, embrace our present, and look to the future with courage, clarity, and compassion.
