beautiful view of the bridge, water and birds
Last Wednesday, Mr. Kern’s 4th/5th graders and Mr. DL’s 5th graders from Pescadero Elementary traveled by ferry to Angel Island for their first joint field trip of the year. This is one of many opportunities these two classes will have throughout the school-year to support building relationships and middle school transition.

Students started their day with a beautiful ferry ride from SF to Angel Island ⛴🌊That was followed by a hike up some steep stairs and following the path to the Angel Island Immigration Station where they were met by State Park Ranger Amy. She shared the history of Angel Island and led the group on a tour through the historical barracks building and surrounding area.

The field trip sparked a lot of inquiry and many questions were posed regarding the wildlife 🦌🍃, the history of the island and their own personal experiences/connections. #PlaceBasedLearning

We are looking forward to the other collaborative field trips that will unfold this year ⭐️
