Pescadero Elementary participated in  Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day today! This morning we met at the Community Church and walked to school together.

On November 14, 1960, at just seven years of age, Ruby Bridges became the first Black child to attend an all-white primary school in Louisiana. This was a courageous decision made by her family who were not allowed to attend school. She was threatened and followed by angry mobs daily. This one act of courage, though, paved the way for further school integration.
