Welcome Back to School!
It is with great excitement and joy that we welcome back our La Honda Elementary families, staff and volunteers for the 2023-2024 school year!
There is so much to look forward to! But first allow me to introduce you to our LHE staff. Returning to teach preschool is Carmen Carmona (LHE alumni and Preschool Site Supervisor) and Adrienne Delay. Our Kinder/1st grade teacher, Daniel Brenner, is excited to welcome the littles to his class. In our 2nd/3rd grade class students will have Brett Miller, who we are excited to have returned to our community. The 4th/5th grade class will be taught by Garrett Kern (LHE alumni), who is excited to teach the same grade for a second year. Supporting the classrooms this year will be Nicole Dalton (LHE alumni), Jennifer Domitilli (returning from retirement), & Pilar Carmona (LHE alumni). Kate (the Great) will keep everything running smoothly in and outside of our office. Nikki McKay will continue to oversee our After School Program with the help of Debbie, Nicole and Sylvie. Of course, we are lucky to have returning Mrs. Vail (music), Mr. Gilbert (PE), Ms. Hope (science/garden), Ms. Daniela (garden), & Ms. Demma (Special Ed). Lastly, I am overjoyed to remain in the role of Site Director! This team is an amazing one, and we can expect a ton of wonderful learning opportunities and fun ahead!
*We will be kicking off the year with a Spruce Up Your School Day on Saturday, August 12th.
Please join us at 9:00 -11:00a.m. for a day of community teamwork (snacks will be provided). Please bring garden gloves and clippers, if you have them.
*Our first day of school is on Thursday, August 17th. Drop-off begins at 8:00 AM. School begins at 8:20 with announcements in the courtyard.
Please send your child with a backpack, water bottle and snack/lunch. We will provide all school materials needed for the year.

¡Bienvenido de nuevo al colegio!
¡Es con gran emoción y alegría que damos la bienvenida nuevamente a nuestras familias de La Honda Elementary para el año escolar 2023-2024!
Hay mucho que esperar, pero primero déjame presentarte a nuestro personal de LHE. Carmen Carmona (exalumna de LHE y supervisora del sitio de preescolar) y Adrienne Delay regresan para enseñar preescolar. Nuestro maestro de kínder/primer grado, Daniel Brenner, está emocionado de dar la bienvenida a los pequeños a su clase. En nuestra clase de segundo y tercer grado, los estudiantes tendrán a Brett Miller, a quien estamos felices de haber regresado a nuestra comunidad. Garrett Kern (exalumno de LHE) enseñará la clase de 4.°/5.° grado, ¡quien está emocionado de enseñar el mismo grado por segundo año! Apoyando a las aulas este año estarán Nicole Dalton (exalumna de LHE), Jennifer Domitilli (que regresa de su jubilación) y Pilar Carmona (exalumna de LHE). Kate (la Grande) hará que todo funcione sin problemas dentro y fuera de nuestra oficina. Nikki McKay continuará supervisando nuestro programa extracurricular con la ayuda de Debbie, Nicole y Sylvie. Por supuesto, tenemos la suerte de que regresen la Sra. Vail (música), el Sr. Gilbert (PE), la Sra. Hope (ciencias/jardín), la Sra. Daniela (jardín) y la Sra. Demma (Educación especial). Por último, ¡estoy encantado de permanecer en el puesto de Director del sitio! ¡Este equipo es increíble, y podemos esperar un montón de maravillosas oportunidades de aprendizaje y diversión por delante!
*Comenzaremos el año con un día de Spruce Up Your School el sábado 12 de agosto.
Únase a nosotros de 9:00 a. m. a 11:00 a. m. para un día de trabajo en equipo comunitario (se proporcionarán refrigerios). Por favor traiga guantes de jardín y tijeras de podar, si los tiene.
*Nuestro primer día de clases es el jueves 17 de agosto. La entrega comienza a las 8:00 AM. La escuela comienza a las 8:20 con anuncios en el patio.
Envíe a su hijo con una mochila, una botella de agua y un refrigerio/almuerzo. Proporcionaremos todos los materiales escolares necesarios para el año.
