Parcel Tax Funding for Programs
-
In 2005, by a 73% margin district voters generously approved Measure B. The purpose of this seven-year parcel tax is to:
- To improve student achievement and academic performance
- To attract and retain highly qualified teachers
- To improve school library services
The parcel tax funding supports programs at all district schools. Each year the Governing Board approves funding prorities for parcel tax monies. The Governing Board established a Parcel Tax Oversight Committee to: 1) review district expenditures to ensure that (a) parcel tax proceeds are expended only for the purposes set forth in the ballot measure; (b) no parcel tax proceeds are used for any teacher or administrative salaries or other operating expenses, (c) parcel tax proceeds are maximized.
